The program provides an income to returning Internally Displaced Peoples under the Government of Sri Lankas resettlement program. A minimum of 50 days of employment is guaranteed for one person per household - 10 days to clean/repair the household's own private property; 40 days on approved projects under the program. It has now reached about 17,000 households. The Cash-for-Work program is a component of the Emergency Northern Recovery Project—ENReP— a project co-financed by the Government of Australia.
