A preeminent First Responder, International Medical Corps saves lives and relieves suffering by providing emergency relief to those struck by disaster, no matter where they are, no matter what the conditions, working with them to recover, rebuild and gain the skills and tools required for self-reliance. To find out more, visit http://www.InternationalMedicalCorps.org Each year, about 300 million people are affected by conflict, disaster and disease. In such desperate times, minutes make the difference between life and death. When most others are running away, International Medical Corps rushes in. They go deep into the hardest-hit and most remote areas to reach those in greatest need. Since 1984, International Medical Corps has helped tens of millions of people in more than 80 countries, saving lives with a simple idea: Give local people the skills and knowledge they need, and that investment will pay off long after the crisis has ended. “When security was so bad, we could not go to the camp, the refugees were providing their own healthcare to their own populations because we trained them.” Training is central to International Medical Corps’ work. “When I give my knowledge to my fellow nationals, they will be able to carry that same knowledge and implement it in areas where mothers have never had that before.” For years to come, they're taking care of people inside their own communities, easing suffering and saving lives. We are International Medical Corps.
