What a Wonderful World, if it were played by Jeff Buckley Even before I started playing guitar, almost 15 years ago, I thought the guitar playing in Jeff's version of Hallelujah was beautiful. The huge reverb combined with the dynamic playing, where sometimes a single note that's plucked lightly feels big. Like many I've obsessed over achieving the right sound for this. I watched the documentary with Andy Wallace (the producer of 'Grace') where he emulates the reverb sound and Paul David's video that explores it in detail aswell. I borrowed a Telecaster from a good friend to get as close to the original sound as possible, and I think I got pretty close. The guitar playing in Hallelujah is what I used as a base for this video. I figured it would work for 'What a Wonderful World', because there's a clear, well known melody in the song and an interesting chord structure underneath, with just the right amount of dissonance and jazziness to keep it interesting.
