How Our Dog Recovery Adoption Program Works

All recovery adoption dogs start as local shelter dogs facing euthanasia. They may have limited training, socialization or have suffered from trauma or neglect. Throughout the years, we've realized that these dogs are more suited for training with a behavioral specialist than they are for a foster family. Because of that, recovery adoption dogs spend time with these specialists until they are ready for adoption. Once a dog is deemed available for adoption, we provide families with a 1 month trial along with guidance, coaching and visit(s) from a canine behaviorist.
