I'm in my 7th year on YouTube! This channel has certainly changed over my years here, parallel to my changing and growing as a human. Here's where we are now! In my presence on social media, I always strive to give you all the most real version of myself possible. While there are some healthy boundaries with how much I show, I always do my best to show you the true, vulnerable me. Because that's how you can grow and learn with me. ☆ A note on how to watch my videos: While I'm honored if you enjoy my content, I never want my videos to distract you from enjoying your OWN life. I may show a sunset or two (or a thousand) in my vlogs, but never let that replace the sunsets in your own life. Don't live THROUGH my videos, but let them inspire you to live bigger and bolder in your own real life. ☆ YouTube as a part of my art practice: The main topics I focus on in the scope of my art practice is documentation, nostalgia, and honoring the moment. That's what the majority of the videos on here (Art College Vlogs, The Visual Diary of thatoneartist, etc) are all about. This channel is an extension of my art practice - I am just creating work through the medium of video and myself instead of through paint. Nostalgia is the ghost of gratitude. I feel that statement deeply. The gratitude I feel in a moment is then mirrored by the nostalgia I feel for that moment later. This channel, my current painting series, Memorialize, the thousands of photos I hoard on my phone, my diary, my scrapbook - all of these things store that nostalgia for me. And it's a feeling I love because I am grateful for all the good I've experienced, all the lessons I've learned, and all the people I've loved. ☆ Future of the channel: I'll be honest: being a YouTuber can be rewarding in some ways but very UNREWARDING in others (*cough cough* financial ways *cough cough*). Sometimes I have to prioritize the jobs and responsibilities in my life that will actually pay my rent! And sometimes that means YouTube takes a back seat. Though, while visual diary episodes or sketchbook updates or other long-form art videos may be few and far between, I am trying to post more Shorts so you can stay updated on what's happening in my journey. The story goes on. Thanks for coming along on the ride. - Darcie
