In Volvo Trucks there are several types of engines used, namely: • Volvo D9 Engine • Volvo D11 Engine • Volvo D12 Engine • Volvo D13 Engine • Volvo D16 Engine The Volvo D13 engine is a type of Diesel Engine that has a 13 liter "piston Displacement". For adjusting the valve and injector on the Volvo D13 Engine it is very different from other diesel engines. On the Volvo D13 engine that uses "OverHead Camshaft (OHC)", the mark used for the adjust valve and injector is on the front of the Camshaft. On the Camshaft there are 2 signs used to adjust the valve and adjust the injector: 1. Signs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are used to adjust the Intake Valve and Injector. 2. Signs V1, V2, V3, V4, V5 and V6 are used to adjust the exhaust valve. Adjust Valve Clearance, cold engine: Inlet (intake): 0.2 mm Exhaust: 0.8 mm Exhaust, VEB: 1.6 mm Torque Lock Nut: Intake Valve and Injector 38 Nm. On the Volvo D13 engine using the VEB system (Volvo Engine Brake), the Valve Exhaust has a VEB piston so that the Valve Clearance uses 1, 6 mm. And on the Volvo D13 engine to adjust the exhaust valve using "SHIM", so if the clearance has exceeded the limit then the "SHIM" replacement must be done.
