The Mushroom Group is thrilled to unveil the most significant change to its revered rights division in more than two decades, with the launch of Mushroom Music. Mushroom Music consolidates the strengths of the Group’s individual recording, publishing and neighbouring rights divisions to form one powerhouse operation that offers unparalleled support for artists and songwriters. Mushroom Music will represent a blockbuster roster of artists and writers across its divisions such as Vance Joy, Kylie Minogue, The Teskey Brothers, Jimmy Barnes, Childish Gambino, Kehlani, Julia Jacklin, Archie Roach, Wolf Alice, Amy Shark, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Missy Higgins, Confidence Man, The Rubens, Dan Sultan, The Temper Trap, Hunters & Collectors, Sheppard, Middle Kids, grentperez, Tobiahs, Gordi, and Mia Wray to name but a few. While each division of Mushroom Music maintains necessary autonomy, an integrated approach enables the divisions to share personnel and resources allowing Mushroom Music to tailor an unrivalled range of expert services to the unique needs and goals of each artist and songwriter - creating the largest music collective of its kind in the region. The reimagined recording division consolidates the Group’s celebrated record labels (Liberation Records, Ivy League Records, Bloodlines, Liberator Music, Soothsayer and 100s + 1000s) into one, under the name Mushroom Music. I OH YOU and Valve Sounds will remain standalone label partners of Mushroom Music. Mushroom Music will also incorporate the Group’s esteemed publishing division (previously Mushroom Music Publishing). Formed in 1973, Mushroom Music Publishing is Australia’s most successful independent publishing company, representing some of the most iconic Australian and international songwriters and catalogues. Rounding out Mushroom Music is Australia’s pioneering neighbouring rights company, Good Neighbour. With more than two decades of experience representing some of the biggest artists in the world, Good Neighbour continues to shape the country’s neighbouring rights industry. Mushroom Music will be spearheaded by newly appointed co-CEOs, Chris Maund (formerly C.O.O Mushroom Labels & Publishing) and Linda Bosidis (formerly Managing director Mushroom Music Publishing), both reporting to Mushroom Group Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski. In 1972, a 21-year-old Michael Gudinski formed Mushroom Records and Mushroom Music Publishing in Melbourne, and it didn’t take long for the companies to make a significant impact on the Australian music scene. By the mid ‘70s, Mushroom was at the epicentre of a seismic shift in the way Australians interacted with music and live entertainment, and things were never the same. Since then, Mushroom has been a driving force of near every element of the region’s music and entertainment industry, broadcasting Australian culture across the globe and bringing the world’s brightest talent to our doorstep for fifty years. Over the decades, Mushroom has blossomed into a group of two-dozen specialist music and entertainment companies that are each leaders in their respective fields.
