In Full: MPs vote to legalise assisted dying
MPs are now debating whether to legalise assisted dying ahead of a historic vote in the House of Commons this afternoon. Five hours have been set aside for MPs to air their views on Labour MP Kim Leadbeater’s Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, with a vote due to be held before 2.30pm. It is the first time in almost a decade that MPs have considered the issue after it was voted down in 2015. The Commons is split and it is unclear whether the Bill will have enough support to be given its second reading.
