View, Meditation, Action, 25-27 January 2020, Sydney, Australia
View, meditation and action are the three components of the buddhist path and view is the most crucial. The Diamond Sutra states that all conditioned phenomena should be viewed as a dream, as the dew, as a flash of lightning but this does not mean that life is a dream and does not exist. The buddhist view rests on two truths: relative truth and ultimate truth. What we see is there, but at the same time it is not there. Meditation or practice does not just mean sitting meditation: any method that purifies our dualistic mind and brings us closer to the view is valid. Buddhist action or behavior has various characteristics but fundamentally our actions should work against our habitual dualistic patterns and bring us closer to the view.
