At Black Country Living Museum, we connect people with stories. We proudly share why our small region made a big impact on the world and bring Black Country folk back to life, from metalworkers and miners to nurses and schoolteachers – and even a pub landlord or two. Our visitors experience sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the Black Country as they explore shops, houses and industrial workshops.
We have stepped into living memory, telling stories from the 1940s-1960s with new costumed characters to meet and new rebuilt or replica buildings to explore!
Mind yer ‘ed! Descend ‘into the thick’ of our underground drift mine and hear what ‘Elija Wedge’ has to tell you about the world of an 1850s Black Country coalminer.
Black Country Living Museum is a pretty cool place to find out about the places we’ve come from. It’s also a great way to find out about the people behind our history too. Adventures Through Time is a series of animated videos and podcasts for 8-16 year olds. Created by Black Country Living Museum and Fun Kids Live, the series aims to teach you all about some of the amazing things that happened in the past. We’re delighted to have received support from Art Fund to bring the Black Country’s story to life in brand new ways for young people.
We hold special themed evening events throughout the year offering you the chance to experience the Museum in a whole host of different ways. Whichever event you choose, we're sure you'll have a great time with us.
Our Access Tours are inclusive to everyone who wishes to book a place. Join our qualified British Sign Language interpreter and Audio Described specialist as they share remarkable stories from the Black Country.
Our Visitor Centre is your first stop when visiting Black Country Living Museum. It is home to our admissions team, Café Black Country and our gift shop.
