This spring’s CU Denver commencement on May 13 is the culmination of a yearlong university 50th anniversary celebration. To punctuate the moment, the university will debut its first-ever alma mater—a school anthem that is played at academic ceremonies, commencements, and other shared moments.
There are so many incredible things happening across Colorado, our nation, and the world. The CU Denver community is always asking the big questions and seeking big, bold solutions. But it takes strong connections with creative, innovative people and organizations outside our university to make a real impact.

As part of our 50th anniversary, the CU Denver Effect celebrates the far-reaching impacts of the Lynx community.
To honor the history and legacy of CU Denver’s Aurarian heritage, we have created an initiative, along with our Auraria Higher Education Center partners, to re-envision Ninth Street Historic Park as a geographic and emotional heart of Denver. The area includes approximately a dozen homes—many more than a century old—that were saved from demolition when the land was used to create a shared campus in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Now, as CU Denver turns 50, the university is conducting a historic preservation project that will update some of the homes’ infrastructure and restore their historic character.
Today, The University of Colorado Denver offers more than 100 academic programs and degrees in 8 schools and colleges.
