The University of Waikato has climbed to 235th in the 2025 QS World University Rankings, placing it in the top 3 universities in New Zealand. Waikato remains #1 in NZ for research citations per faculty member and ranks in the global top 100 for sustainability impact. Vice-Chancellor Professor Neil Quigley credits Waikato's research-intensive environment and innovative academics for this impressive achievement, particularly as one of NZ's youngest and smallest universities celebrating its 60th year.
At the University of Waikato, we’re proud of our researchers tackling the big stuff, head on, together. Building a tomorrow full of hope. For the people. And the planet.
