We have built our reputation on getting bowhunters big mule deer. We offered bowhunts in the prairies of Southern Alberta and are now operating in northern Alberta where the deer hunts are even better. We are able to use a variety of tactics while hunting; spot and stalk, pushes and stand hunting. You can expect shots in the 30-50 yard range, with the occasional shot under 25 yards. This is one of, if not, the best, mule deer bowhunts in North America. There are some huge bucks and they are not easily spooked. The habitat is very good for bowhunting because you can use so many different methods. The terrain is a mix of flat farmland, thick woods and big river drainages with open slopes. Most of the hunting is done in farm fields but the crawling on a stalk can be physically demanding. The deer can be patterned during bowhunting season and their antlers are in full velvet. The antlers can be easily stripped and stained if you prefer the hard horned look. We are able to offer two hunters to one guide due to all of the hunting methods available. For an additional fee you may add a moose or a whitetail deer tag to your hunt if available. Alberta Mule Deer Hunting Alberta, Canada is one of the premiere spots in North America for trophy mule deer and we are in the best location within Alberta, the Peace River region. Mule deer are on a limited draw and the hunting is incredible. It has even surpassed the prairies of Southern Alberta where we built our reputation for killing big deer. Our mule deer hunts run in September when the deer are in their bachelor groups and in November during the rut. The key to our mule deer success is our summer scouting, finding and keeping track of as many big bucks as possible. Our primary mule deer hunting methods are what have proven to be the most effective. We drive and walk around farm fields, sit at the field edges, and hike along the open Peace River valleys spotting deer then putting on a stalk. The mule deer that we don't kill in September go into hiding and then resurface in the November rut. The rut is also when new trophy deer that we've never seen show up. On both of these mule deer hunts success on a trophy deer is practically guaranteed, it is just a matter of how big he will be. We do recommend that you shoot the first 170+ buck that you see, it might be 180 or 190 but you may not see another big buck. If you hold out for a giant we may not even be able to find a 170 class deer in the last days of your hunt. In Canada thirty inch wide or 200+ score muleys are always rare.
