This video is a recording of my custom visual system playing pre-performed button presses to the music. The system controls an artist's logo (the visual system name in this case), visuals, and lights with the same button presses, allowing you to perform visuals like you are playing a rhythm game. The button presses that you see represented by the buttons lighting up on the controller and screen were recorded in one take as MIDI. They are left untouched to accurately represent the potential of the vj'ing system in a live setting. Please read more about the system below! 🙃🙃🙃 ABOUT T̶I̶M̶E̶C̶O̶D̶E̶D: Around a year and a half ago, I started using Blender (a 3D creation suite) in combination with Resolume (video mixing software) to create visuals that would be used in a live setting to complement music. I found that combination to be tedious, time-consuming, and non-applicable to my usual workflow of just fiddling with things until they look good. Having to render a 15-second video out for 4 hours before you can see the end result (before liking having to render it again) doesn't inspire creativity. So I ditched that workflow for Touchdesigner, which is described as "a visual programming environment aimed at the creation of multimedia applications." What Touchdesigner has allowed me to do is ditch the long rendering process entirely. Everything you see on the screen is rendered in real-time. It also allows you to create practically any type of logic system you can dream of and has support for nearly any type of input or output. With the power of Touchdesigner, I set out to fix two problems I had with the visual and lighting productions of the shows I frequent. First, visuals and lights are nearly always controlled by two different systems. This means that either two different people are controlling them (which leads to a lack of sync between them) or the same person has to split their focus between two systems. Second, I believe that more can be done to create sync between the music, visuals, and lights. These two problems are only issues with non-timecoded shows, meaning the visuals are performed done live and the VJ is reacting in real time to what the DJ is playing. T̶I̶M̶E̶C̶O̶D̶E̶D attempts to solve these problems by combining the visuals and lights into the same button presses. By doing so, I believe I've gotten as close as possible to how a pre-planned, time-coded show feels while still being performed in real-time. 🙃🙃🙃 follow me on Instagram ~ https://www.instagram.com/conradhellm... come chill or contact me on Discord ~ https://discord.gg/dmGXDZU6Wb download my Synth Riders charts ~ https://synthriderz.com/profile/darno... do you want to give me money for some reason? ~ https://www.ko-fi.com/conradhellmanart/ I stream very infrequently so you'll want to follow ~ https://www.twitch.tv/conradhellmanart
